Monday night in High School Baseball Senior Dalton Graven threw a complete game shutout as Waverly-Shell Rock beat Decorah 4-0. The Go-Hawks only got one more hit than Decorah but their hits were timely and they had excellent base-running. Waverly-Shell Rock will next play Wednesday versus Crestwood.
In area baseball Monday night: Aplington-Parkersburg swept Waterloo Columburs 4-3 and 6-5, Colo-Nesco beat Tripoli 8-6, Denver split with Sumner-Fredericksburg winning 4-2 and losing 10-9, Dike-New Hartford swept Jesup 10-6 and 11-1, Don Bosco hammered Riceville 11-1, GMG swept Dunkerton 14-7 and 21-6, and Janesville swept Clarksville 11-1 and 7-3.
The Waverly-Shell Rock Softball team beat Dubuque Wahlert 10-0 Monday. Cassie Rotting of Waverly-Shell Rock threw a no-hitter and Hanna Fanter blasted a home-run in the victory. Wednesday night the Go-Hawks will take on Waukon in conference play.
In area softball Monday night: Janesville split with Clarksville losing 1-0 and winning 17-7, Colo-Nesco beat Tripoli 11-1, Waterloo Columbus topped Aplington-Parkersburg 9-1, Denver edged Sumner-Fredericksburg 4-3 in extras, Don Bosco slammed Riceville 14-1, Jesup hammered Dike-New Hartford 18-5, North Butler ten runned Northwood-Kensett 11-1 and Union blanked Wapsie Valley 4-0.
