Tanner Krueger tossed a no-hitter and only walked one as the Waverly-Shell Rock baseball team defeated Crestwood 3-0 Wednesday night. With the win the Go-Hawks remain in second place behind New Hampton in the conference. Thursday night at 7:30 the Go-Hawks will play at Forest City.
In area baseball scores Wednesday night: Cedar Falls ten runned Waterloo East 10-0, Center-Point Urbana slammed Union La Porte City 11-1, Clarksville edged Tripoli 8-6, Dike-New Hartford beat Independence 16-5, Dubuque Senior swept Waterloo West 12-5 and 14-4, Gladbrook-Reinbeck beat Waterloo Columbus 9-5, Mason City Newman topped North Butler 11-1 and Northwood-Kensett beat Nashua-Plainfield 7-5.
Wednesday night the Waverly-Shell Rock softball team beat Waukon 5-1 to remain perfect in the conference. Thursday evening Waverly-Shell Rock will host Charles City at 7:30. You can hear the game on The Winner AM 1470.
In area softball Wednesday night: Alburnett beat Don Bosco 14-5, Clarksville beat Tripoli 9-7, Waterloo Columbus topped Janesville 8-2, Gladbrook-Reinbeck hammered Aplington-Parkersburg 16-1 and Union split with Vinton-Shellsburg winning 6-1 and losing 2-1.
