At a press conference Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees announced that he will retire after this Friday’s game. Rodriguez will become a front office employee of the famed ball club. He finishes his career with a career .295 batting average, 4th best 696 home runs, 2nd best 2,084 RBIs and 3,114 hits.
Ichiro Suzuki joined the 3,000 hit club yesterday. The 42 year old Japanese player did it with a triple off the wall to become the first Japanese born player to join the exclusive club.
