Human remains were discovered along Wolf Creek that are likely that of missing La Porte City teen Jake Wilson.
Tuesday afternoon kayakers found the remains along the creek in rural La Porte City. It was an area search crews had combed time and time again.
The remains have not been confirmed to be those of Jake Wilson, however they do fall in line with the investigation. A lab will do DNA testing and results from the test could take up to two weeks.
Sheriff Tony Thompson said maybe there will finally be closure in the heartbreaking case.
The biological father of missing La Porte City teen Jake Wilson is facing charges, tied to a scuffle after a news conference Thursday afternoon.
According to jail records, Mike Wilson was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail around 5:30 on Thursday evening.
Wilson is facing two counts of simple assault.
Following that news conference, Mike Wilson, Jake’s biological father, was seen confronting Jake’s mother and step-father shouting “I blame you.”
