Tuesday evening the 6th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks host 9th ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier with the winner going to the Class 4A State Tournament in Des Moines. The Go-Hawks are on a 19 game winning streak and number-20 would punch their ticket to Des Moines. Pregame begins at 6:40 with tip-off at 7:00 on KWAY Country.
Monday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock boys beat Charles City 54-42 in the Sub-State Quarterfinals in Marion. The Go-Hawks got 23 points from Caleb Burks and made 15 of 18 4th quarter free throws to hold off a furious Comet comeback attempt.
The Go-Hawks will travel back to Marion on Thursday as Marion thumped South Tama 79-31 in their game. Thursday’s game will tip-off at 7:00.
