Bus Driver Fired After Crash

A bus driver in the Cedar Falls Community School District has been terminated after crashing a bus with students aboard in June, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The Board of Education voted to fire 59 year old Dawn Chase earlier this month after an accident on June 3rd. Chase was driving the bus northbound on Union Road with three students aboard when she left the roadway near the Beaver Creek Access and slid into a ditch with the bus coming to a rest on its side. Chase and one student received minor injuries in the crash. Chase was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
