Tuesday was a busy day for Wartburg sports.
The Knights baseball team was swept by their rival the Luther Norse. Luther won 9-2 in Game One and then edged the Knights 14-13 in Game Two. Wartburg’s Sam Nicolino led the Knights in the doubleheader with four RBIs and a home run.
In softball action UW-La Crosse swept Wartburg in a pair of high scoring games. La Crosse took Game One 15-11 despite Wartburg’s Lauren Frerichs going 4-4 with 3 RBIs. In Game Two UW-La Crosse topped Wartburg 13-11 even as Wartburg’s Ella Link went 3-4 with 2 RBIs.
In women’s la crosse the Knights used Britta Solheim’s four goal, four assist performance to beat Monmouth 12-5. The Knights begin Midwest Women’s La Crosse Conference action 1-0.
