CA Deals Blow to Fall Sports Hopes

NCAA Fall sports have been dealt a blow. NCAA President Mark Emmert said Friday that universities and colleges were largely in agreement that if students won’t be allowed on campuses then student-athletes won’t either. The California State University system of 23 schools announced Tuesday that learning would remain online in the Fall semester. No decisions from California or the conferences have been made regarding sports as of today. The California Collegiate Athletic Association, which is comprised of 13 Division-II programs, has canceled all Fall sports as of Tuesday.

One state’s decision by no means controls the entire nation of colleges and universities but California’s moves are a bad harbinger for amateur sports lovers and athletes around the country.
