The investigation into the death of a 6-year-old Dunkerton girl has been closed. The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office confirms that Kanen McIntosh died from sepsis due to acute peritonitis because of acute appendicitis. Sheriff’s were called to 7114 W. Dunkerton Rd. on Wednesday for a report of an unresponsive child. Kanen was taken to Allen Hospital by Dunkerton Ambulance and was pronounced dead.
