CF Mask Mandate Extended

The Cedar Falls City Council has extended its mask mandate, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The council received concerns from some in the community about the effectiveness of masks in limiting the spread of the coronavirus however the mandate was passed by a margin of 4-2. Council members Susan de Buhr and Dave Sires voted against the mandate as they did when it was originally proposed back on September 8th. Daryl Kruse who had also originally voted against the mandate was absent. University of Northern Iowa President Mark Nook sent a letter to the council asking them to extend the mandate citing data kept by the school that indicated masks were significantly effective.
