Tuesday night on Y99.3 at the Class 1A State Softball Tournament the 2-seeded Clarksville Indians won an extra-innings thriller over 7-seed Newman 5-4. The Indians and Knights were tied 4-4 with two outs in the bottom of the 8th when 8th grader Cate Lodge hit a routine ball up the middle that went through the center fielder’s legs then the right fielder fell and Lodge scored the walk-off run.
Clarksville will play St. Edmond in the State Semifinals Wednesday night on Y99.3. Pre-game at 7:15 and first pitch at 7:30.
Tuesday night on KWAY Country St. Edmond beat Wapsie Valley 11-2 in a full 7 innings.
The Warriors will play Newman Catholic Wednesday on Y99.3 in the consolation game. Pre-game at 2:15 and first pitch at 2:30. This will be the last game of the tournament for both teams.
