Crash at Cedar Falls Raceway

he Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office reports that several people were injured after a single vehicle roll over crash at the Cedar Falls Raceway around 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

A Can-Am Maverick X3 UTV, driven by 46-year-old Chad Kinkade, of Waterloo, had left a paved road in the pits and entered a grass area. Kinkade made several sharp turns causing the UTV to roll on its passenger side, coming to a rest on its top. Several passengers sustained injuries during the crash. 52-year-old Lisa Talaska, of Janesville, was one of three passengers riding inside. She was extricated from the vehicle with a complaint of rib and wrist pain. 39-year-old Shelly Liddell,of Cedar Falls, who was riding on the exterior of the vehicle, suffered a leg injury. Liddell and Talaska were taken to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo for treatment. The crash remains under investigation. Assisting at the accident was Sartori ambulances, Janesville First Responders, and Janesville Fire-Rescue.
