Monday the Boys State Basketball Tournament tipped off at Well Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Quarterfinal scores were: in Class 1A North Linn ran by South Winn 77-52, Martensdale St. Mary’s edged Easton Valley 51-45 in overtime, Montezuma clipped Lake Mills 64-61 in overtime and Grand View Christian topped Remsen St. Mary’s 54-49; in Class 2A Boyden Hull beat South Central Calhoun 74-49 and Aplington-Parkersburg thumped Van Meter 68-41.
