Tuesday hundreds of cross country athletes ran in Waverly at the Dick Pollitt Invitational. On the boys side in the Fresh/Soph meet Denver’s Jesse Gomez won with Waverly-Shell Rock’s Matthew Hommowun in 2nd. In the Junior/Senior race Waverly-Shell Rock’s top finishers were Gage Mueller in 10th and Baily Schara in 11th. On the girls side in the Fresh/Soph race Aliya Gritters of Waverly-Shell Rock was 12th and in the Junior/Senior event the top Go-Hawk was Bella Engelhardt in 17th.
