Thursday night on Y99.3 the Wapsie Valley Warriors boys basketball team beat Don Bosco 54-38 to win a District Championship. The Warriors got 24 points and 24 rebounds from Kiks Rosengarten in the win. Wapsie Valley will play Ed-Co at Cedar Rapids Prairie Saturday night at 7:00 for a Sub-State Championship and a ticket to State. You can hear Saturday’s game on Y99.3.
Thurday night on KWAY Country in Sub-State Basketball the Marion boys came from behind to beat Waverly-Shell Rock 56-43. The Go-Hawks led by as many as 7 in the 3rd quarter and by 3 going into the 4th before Marion charged ahead. Caleb Burks led all scorers with 17 points. Waverly-Shell Rock finishes the season 12-10.
Thursday night in the District Championship Game it was Turkey Valley besting Janesville 42-37 to end the Wildcats’ season.
