Tuesday night in boys basketball on KWAY Country the Waterloo East Trojans beat the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks. The Go-Hawks led by as many as 15 points due to a hot shooting first quarter where they hit seven 3-pointers, but East stormed back late with 28 points from Tyrese Nickelson to win 66-62.
Trey Angel led the Go-Hawks with 17 points and freshman Hogan Hansen netted 15 in the loss.
This was the season opener for both teams.
