The American Rivers Conference has named its athletes of the week and four Wartburg Knights were honored. Waverly native Brenna Bodensteiner was named the women’s golfer of the week, Cael O’Neill was named the football special teams player of the week, Tyler Schermerhorn is the men’s cross country runner of the week and Ellie Meyer was named the women’s cross country runner of the week.
The Wartburg football team has slipped from #4 to #6 in the American Football Coaches Association’s Week 1 poll after the Knights got a victory on the road.
