There will be BINGO at the Bradford Guest House in Nashua on October 24th with some of the proceeds going to a memorial for an area law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty. Half of the money made will be utilized to fund a memorial bench in Plainfield and a headstone in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly for Officer Bill Meadows. Meadows was a Marshall in Plainfield on January 23rd, 1961 when he was called to the Hartmann Packing Company on a report of a break in. When he opened the door to the plant he was shot to death. The shooter has never been identified. Meadow’s case remains one of several cold cases in Bremer County.
