Authorities are seeking donations in the ongoing search for a missing La Porte City teen. Officials with the La Porte City Fire Association said the funds will be used for heavy equipment to remove remaining and newly formed log jams on Wolf Creek, which is where 16-year-old Jake Wilson was headed when he disappeared in April. Crews have been clearing jams from the creek during the search for Jake, and an excavator has been used to untangle jams that were too large to be undone by hand.
Donations to fund the heavy equipment efforts can be made to the La Porte City Fire Association, 202 Main St., La Porte City, IA 50651. Donors are asked to include “Jake Wilson Search” in the memo line.
