It’s rare for a sporting event to live up to the hype, but Thursday night’s Field of Dreams Game in Dyersville was an event that exceeded expectations. The White Sox beat the Yankees with a walk-off home run 9-8. The Yankees trailed by 3 runs going into the 9th and scored 4 runs to take the lead, including getting back-to-back bombs into the corn. In the bottom of the 9th Tim Anderson hit an opposite corn field 2-run home run to walk off with victory in the first ever game in Iowa. Thursday night’s game featured 8 home runs.
