Tuesday night on KWAY Country in a Regional Final the 10th ranked Gilbert Tigers shocked 2nd ranked Waverly-Shell Rock sweeping them 25-19, 25-17, 25-23 to advance to State. Waverly-Shell Rock finished with a 38-9 record and a Northeast Iowa Conference championship.
In other Regional Finals: Union swept Independence and Cedar Falls swept Waterloo West. Union is the 3A 6th seed and will face 3-seed Mt. Vernon Tuesday morning. Cedar Falls is the 5A 6th seed and will play 3-seed Pleasant Valley Monday afternoon.
