Monday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock volleyball team won a 5-set thriller to advance to the State Semifinals in Class 4A. The Go-Hawks edged Oskaloosa 23-25, 28-26, 21-25, 25-15, 15-12. Faith DeRonde of Oskaloosa set a State Tournament record for all classes with 40 kills in the loss. Oskaloosa had 22 miss serves.
The 3-seeded Go-Hawks will play 2-seeded North Scott Wednesday at noon on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3. Coverage will start at 11:40.
