Governor Isolating as She Updates Iowa

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is self isolating after coming into indirect contact with Vice President Mike Pence’s staffer Katie Miller after visiting the White House. Miller tested positive prior to Air Force Two’s flight to Iowa on Friday when the Vice President visited Des Moines. The governor’s press conference featured just her in the room and she pledged to wear a mask when she has to be near other people.

The governor updated the COVID-19 numbers for Iowa Monday at 11:00. There are 414 new cases and 12,373 total confirmed cases, 6 additional deaths for a total of 271 dead, 5,249 recovered. 77,792 Iowans have been tested and 15.9% of them tested were positive. 1 in 40 Iowans have been tested.

The local numbers have been updated. Bremer County has 58 total cases and no new cases, Butler County has no new cases and 12 total, Chickasaw County has 1 new case and 7 total, Fayette County has no new cases and 24 total, Floyd County has 1 new case for 5 total and 1 death. Black Hawk County Health Department reports 1,754 cases and 26 total deaths.
