Update-
Cedar Falls Police are continuing to investigate the motor vehicle accident that occurred on May 1st, 2024 at approximately 5:15 PM at the intersection of Greenhill Road and Prairie Parkway. Cedar Falls Police are reporting that the driver of the motorcycle has been identified as Austin Sternhagen, age 21 from Cedar Falls. Sternhagen unfortunately has died from his injuries.
On May 1st, 2024, at approximately 5:15 PM, Cedar Falls Public Safety Personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Greenhill Road and Prairie Parkway after receiving reports of a motor vehicle accident. Officers learned that a motorcyclist was traveling West on Greenhill Road approaching Prairie Parkway and collided with a passenger vehicle traveling West on Greenhill Road attempting to turn South onto Prairie Parkway. The motorcyclist was ejected as a result of the collision. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital. Cedar Falls Public Safety was assisted by the Black Hawk County Consolidated Communication Center, the Black Hawk County Sherriff’s office, Mercyone Paramedics, and Rasmussen towing.
