It was a good weekend for Wartburg College. Saturday the Knights sent three teams to the NCAA Tournament. The Wartburg Wrestling team won the Central Regional Championship while sending all 10 grapplers to the NCAAs. The Wartburg women’s basketball team won the conference by defeating Luther 81-68 and with the win get an automatic bid to the National Tournament. And the Wartburg men’s basketball surprised the conference by edging Central 89-85 to win the Iowa Conference and also get an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
The Wartburg softball team opened its 2017 campaign with two wins Sunday. The Knights run-ruled Augustana of Illinois 10-2 in the opener and defeated Otterbein 9-5 in the second game of the day.
