The American Rivers Conference, the conference that Wartburg is in, has announced their commissioner Dan Hammes. Hammes, a 2007 Wartburg grad, was deputy commissioner starting in 2016 and then was appointed commissioner in October of 2021. Hammes cited wanting to spend more time with his young family as the reason for his departure. Veteran athletic leader Keith Hackett has been named interim commissioner.
