Legendary Iowa Football Coach Hayden Fry has died after a lengthy bout with cancer. He was 90. Fry took a program that was at the bottom of the Big 10 and led the Hawkeyes to fourteen bowls, three Rose Bowls and a #1 ranking in his twenty years at the helm. Fry also designed the famous Tigerhawk logo, the pink visitors’ locker room, the swarm and gave Iowa football its signature Steeler-like look. Fry is perhaps best known nationally for his impressive coaching tree, as many of his assistants became very successful head coaches.
