Historic Day for W-SR and the Whole State

Saturday was an historic day at Waverly-Shell Rock high school as it hosted the first ever Girls State Wrestling Tournament. The Go-Hawks not only hosted but they won the event. The Go-Hawks won the first state team title and Annika Behrends won a 132 lbs crown and Avery Meier won for the Go-Hawks at 138 lbs.

The Go-Hawk boys wrestling team also won the Rick Caldwell Invitational Saturday.
