Wartburg baseball coach Joel Holst has resigned for reasons not specified by the college after 27 years, 761 wins and 16 conference championships at the school. His information has been removed from the school’s website. Former Wartburg baseball assistant and current Waverly-Shell Rock teacher and current assistant football coach Casey Chaplin has been named interim head coach. Chaplin was formerly a head coach at Waverly-Shell Rock baseball and Galva-Holstein and an assistant under Holst at Wartburg for 17 years.
