Hospital Raffle Prize Corvette Totaled in Crash

A raffle meant to raise money for a machine used in radiation therapy at MercyOne in Cedar Falls and Waterloo has closed after the prize, a 1978 25th Anniversary edition Chevrolet Corvette, was totaled in a crash, according to KWWL. Raffle ticket sales have closed and those who bought tickets can request a refund or donate their purchase to the cause anyway. If ticket holders do not respond by June 30th their purchase will be considered a donation. The machine, a linear accelerator would allow MercyOne to deliver precise cancer treatment with fewer side effects. MercyOne is still collecting donations towards the linear accelerator. The driver of the corvette was injured in the crash but is now recovering at home.
