How Emergency Proclamations Help

Last Monday Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation for seven Iowa counties in response to flooding and other weather-related issues from over the weekend. The proclamation means that residents in those counties who have suffered weather damage are eligible for a state grant to aid their repairs. Bremer was among the seven counties.

The proclamation remains in effect 45 days after it was issued. If you believe you are eligible for the assistance, you can apply on the Iowa Department of Human Services website at dhs.iowa.gov.
