Huge Weekend for Wartburg Sports

The Wartburg women’s basketball team is in the Sweet 16. Friday at 5:30 the 11th ranked Knights will play at St. Thomas against 13th ranked UW-Oshkosh. The winner of Friday night’s game will play Saturday at 7:00 at St. Thomas in the Elite Eight against either 2nd ranked St. Thomas or 5th ranked Amherst. The Wartburg women have been to two of the last three Final Fours. The Final Four is in Salem, Virginia next weekend.

The Wrestling National Championships will take place Friday and Saturday at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Virginia hosted by Ferrum College. The top-ranked Knights have won 14 National Championships, which is the record for most National Championships in Division III wrestling. The Knights have won the last three consecutive National Championships and seven of the last eight.

Wartburg will send seven competitors to Nationals.

The 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships will take place Friday and Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Mass. The Wartburg women have won three team national titles and the men are seeking their first this weekend.
