A Honduras man living in Waterloo has been sentenced for assaulting his girlfriend and stabbing her family members, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 28 year old Eslyn Hernandez Milla was arrested in May of 2023 after he assaulted his girlfriend and held a box cutter to her neck. When her relatives tried to intervene he stabbed them in the leg and abdomen. He pleaded to Willful Injury and Domestic Assault and was sentenced to 15 years in prison but that was suspended to two to five years of probation. He was then charged by immigration officials with Illegal Reentry.
