Wednesday night on Y99.3 at the State Volleyball Tournament in the Class 1A Quarterfinals Janesville swept Gladbrook-Reinbeck 25-14, 25-21 and 25-13. The Wildcats were led by Bree Thompson’s 20 kills and Gabby Gergen’s 33 assists.
Also Wednesday night on Y99.3 at State the Tripoli Panthers beat Starmont in four sets. The Stars took set 1 25-21 and then the Panthers roared back 25-19, 25-21 and 25-21. The Panthers were led by Zoe Semelroth’s 25 kills and Sadie Bobst’s 43 assists.
Thursday night at 6:00 on Y99.3 Janesville and Tripoli will play in an all Iowa Star Conference State Semifinal match. The winner of tonight’s match will play Gehlen Catholic or Holy Trinity Catholic Friday night in the Class 1A Championship Match. Pre-match coverage will begin at about 5:40.
