Thursday night on Y99.3 Janesville swept Tripoli in the Class 1A State Volleyball Semifinals. Janesville won 25-11, 25-21 and 25-11. Zoe Semelroth led Tripoli with 11 kills while Bree Thompson hammered 20 kills for Janesville.
Friday night the Janesville Wildcats will face a familiar foe for the Class 1A Title as they face Holy Trinity. Janesville is trying to win its 4th championship in a row and their 5th in 6 years. The only other 1A team to win a title in the last 6 years was Holy Trinity. Prematch begins at 6:40 with first serve of the Class 1A Championship Match at 7:00 on Y99.3.
Other championship matches Friday at the State Tournament are: Cedar Falls vs. Ankeny Centennial at 10:00 in 5A, in 4A Dubuque Wahlert will face Xavier at 12:15, Kuemper Catholic will take on Tipton at 2:30 in Class 3A and at 4:45 Unity Christian and Western Christian will play for the 2A crown.
