Thursday night the 9-seeded Iowa men’s basketball team beat 4-seed Nebraska 77-71 to advance to the Elite Eight for the first time in 39 years. Iowa will play 3-seed Illinois Saturday at 5:09 on TBS for a ticket to the Final Four. Iowa lost 75-69 to the Illini on January 6th.
In the other games Thursday night: Purdue edged Texas 79-77, Illinois topped Houston 65-55 and Arizona crushed Arkansas 109-88.
The women’s round of 16 is Friday and Saturday on ESPN and ABC.
