Live Christmas trees are a part of many families Christmas traditions, and having a fresh tree can ensure that the festive spirit will last as long as possible.

Ron Lenth from the ISU Bremer County Extension explains how a tree can be checked for freshness:

Lenth says that a healthy, well-kept tree will generally last between 3-4 weeks, and when the needles become dry and brittle it’s time to dispose of or recycle it.
