Man Arrested After 1st Grader & Bus Driver Saved a Mom is Going to Prison

After a Sumner Fredericksburg 1st grader passed a note to their bus driver, a Westgate woman’s life was saved and her abuser has now been sentenced to prison time, according to KCRG. On the morning of September 24th the child handed a note to the bus driver that their mother had given them that read, “Call 911.” The bus driver did just that and authorities went to the child’s home where the mother came out of a bedroom upset with bruising on her face. After an investigation it was determined that Glenroy Miller, originally from the Bahamas, had abused the woman throughout the night. He admitted to punching the woman several times, pushing her down into the bathtub, and slapping her during an argument. An exam at the hospital showed the victim suffered two broken ribs and a punctured lung from being kicked. Miller also held a knife to the woman’s throat and wrists throughout the night. Miller pleaded guilty to Willful Injury Resulting in Serious Injury, False Imprisonment, and two counts of Domestic Abuse Assault. He has now been sentenced to nine years in prison.
