Waterloo police say they have arrested Justin Silos, 37, of Waterloo accusing him of setting fire to five properties in severe disrepair around the city. Silos, has confessed to the crimes, has been charged with five counts of arson in the 2nd degree. He is also charged with public intoxication. Why Silos decided to set the buildings on fire still isn’t clear or how he started them in the first place. Investigators say they do believe an “accelerant” was used.
