Man Arrested on His Way to Go Hunting

An Evansdale man was arrested on his way to go hunting, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. On Wednesday evening 64 year old Douglas Knapp was originally pulled over on Gilbertville Road for an expired registration. He told the The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Deputy that he was on his way to go turkey hunting. The deputy then found a 12 gauge shotgun in a case in the vehicle and arrested Knapp on a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Knapp is barred from handling firearms because of a 2008 felony drug conviction.
