Last night the Mason City School Board voted to approve an application for Mason City to join the Northeast Iowa Conference. Waverly-Shell Rock and the other NEIC schools have not indicated that they would approve the application. If Mason City joins it would benefit from a 50% reduction in transportation costs versus the CIML travel. Mason City would become the largest school in the conference. The NEIC is expected to act on this measure in January.
