A Cedar Rapids man had to be rescued after getting lost after going fishing in Buchanan County and then was arrested on a warrant for Sexual Abuse. 32 year old Garrett Spence was fishing in the Hoffman Woods area east of Brandon on Monday night. He told deputies that he got lost once the sun went down. Deputies were able to locate Spence using a drone with an infrared camera, which picked up the fire Spence had built and his body heat. Deputies attempted to use the drone’s loudspeaker and a spotlight to lead Spence out but that was unsuccessful. Deputies, including K9 Koda, were forced to hike in and located him. Spence was then arrested for second degree Sexual Abuse out of Linn County.
