It’s being built and they will come. Major League Baseball announced yesterday that the Yankees and the White Sox will play a game at the Field of Dreams movie site on August 13, 2020. The game will not be played on the original field but will take place on a temporary 8,000 seat ballpark on the other side of the iconic cornfield. The White Sox were chosen for this as they were featured prominently in the film and book, especially Shoeless Joe Jackson. No word from MLB on how parking will work, cost of the tickets, whether this will become an annual event or other details but we do know this will be the first Major League Game in the state of Iowa ever.
