Monday COVID-19 Numbers

Monday Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds updated the COVID-19 numbers for the state. 534 new confirmed cases for a total of 9,203 so far. 85% of the new cases are from the 22 counties that have not reopened. 4 more Iowans have died for a total of 188 dead. 3,486 Iowans that were test confirmed with COVID-19 have recovered. 1 in every 55 Iowans have been tested which is a dramatic increase since Test Iowa began.

Governor Reynolds also took time to salute the state and local government workers as this is the beginning of Federal Services Workers Recognition Week. She highlighted how state and local workers have cooperated since the start of the pandemic.

The area COVID-19 numbers have been updated. Bremer County has 2 new cases for a total of 55 confirmed cases and 5 dead. Fayette County has 23 total and Black Hawk has 1,361 and 15 dead according to the Iowa Department of Public Health and 1,523 according to the more recent Black Hawk County Health Department update.
