Name Released in Train Crash

Waterloo Police have released the name of a woman hit by a train Wednesday night. Police said around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday the train hit 67-year-old Oneida Cosby near Center Street and Logan Avenue.

Officers determined Cosby was walking north on Logan Avenue and had attempted to climb through the stopped train when it jerked forward, dragging her for a distance.

Police said Cosby was conscious when they arrived, but had lost one leg, with the potential of losing the other.

Emergency crews took her to a hospital and then flew her to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
