Thursday, 08/16/18 at 11:04 p.m. the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office took a report of an accident north of the intersection of Hwy. 218 and C13. When Deputies arrived they discovered a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix fully engulfed in fire. Further investigation determined that Arthur Penrod, 19, of rural Nashua, was driving southbound on Hwy. 218 when the vehicle entered the ditch striking a cement box culvert causing the vehicle to go air born, overturning and catching on fire. Penrod was pronounced deceased at the scene.
