Thursday night in the NCAA Tournament the Iowa State men punched their ticket to the next round beating 12-seed Nevada 84-75. The Cyclones were led by Monte Morris’ 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Iowa State will next play on Sunday.

St. Mary’s 76-56, Gonzaga got by South Dakota St. 66-46, Arizona cruized over North Dakota 100-82, West Virginia beat Bucknell 86-80, Purdue topped Vermont 80-70, Florida State edged Florida Gulf Coast 86-80, Florida beat East Tennessee St. 80-65, Butler got by Winthrop 76-64, St. Mary’s thumped VCU 85-77, Wisconsin beat Virginia Tech 84-74, Middle Tennessee St. upset Minnesota 81-72, Northwestern nipped Vanderbilt 68-66 and Xavier beat Maryland 76-65.
The first round of the tourney continues Friday.
