New Business Guidelines from IDPH

The Iowa Department of Public Health has sent out some guidelines for businesses during this COVID-19 outbreak. They say to prevent an outbreak businesses should stagger shifts to reduce worker population at any given time and stagger breaks to reduce staff interactions. IDPH also suggests providing employees with face masks or allowing them to wear their own and providing hand sanitizer and frequent hand washing opportunities. In order to detect an outbreak businesses should take employees temperatures and assess for cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing or any other respiratory symptom. Those with symptoms should stay home until they have gone 72 hours without a fever without the use of medicine to reduce the fever, other symptoms have improved, and at least 7 days have passed since the symptoms first appeared.
