Iowa football will not be playing in the Transperfect Music City Bowl. Missouri has pulled out of the bowl citing an increase in positive COVID-19 tests in its program. The bowl is automatically refunding all tickets purchased in the next 7-10 business days. Iowa went 6-2 after winning six in a row. The Hawkeyes’ final regular season game was also canceled after Michigan pulled out due to COVID-19.
Iowa receiver Brandon Smith has announced that he is leaving the team to declare for the NFL draft.
