The Iowa Attorney General’s Office has determined that two Waterloo police officers were justified in their shooting of a man back in June, according to KCRG. Police received a complaint from a woman about a man named Kelvin Plain Jr. filming videos outsider her home. The next day Plain returned to her home with a gun. Police were again called and reported to the scene. They found Plain riding a bike in a nearby park. As Plain attempted to ride away from the police he dropped his gun and tried to retrieve the firearm. One officer ordered him to drop the gun before getting tased. Plain then fell down, rolled over, and shot officers Jason Chopard and Thomas Schuster, hitting one in the abdomen and the other in the leg and chest. Both officers shot back, killing Plain. Both officers needed surgery but did survive.
